Kitty Playgrounds, Purr-formances and More—Don’t Miss These Cat-tastic Activities at America’s Family Pet Expo

For cat lovers of all ages, this year’s America’s Family Pet Expo is sure to be the cat’s meow. The weekend’s exciting line-up of events will include an interactive cat playground, performances by Instagram sensation Moshow the Cat Rapper, and a championship cat show featuring felines of all types, ranging from household domestics to rare breeds.

Returning from last year’s show, the Catit Playground, sponsored by kitty product retailer Catit, will allow attendees a close-up view of adorable, adoptable cats and kittens as they frolic on the interactive playground. This fun attraction provides a great atmosphere in which to learn about different cats, their favorite toys, and how they interact with humans.

The International Cat Association® (TICA®) will be sponsoring an appearance by the hilarious Moshow the Cat Rapper (@iAmMoshow). This free-styling feline has achieved internet fame, with 224,000 followers on Instagram and over 1 million video views. Known for rapping about cat care and his love of “cat ladies,” Moshow will be performing at 1:30 and 3:30 p.m. all weekend, with a Meet & Greet at 2:30 p.m. daily. Only 50 tickets for the Meet & Greet will be given out each day; they will become available at 10:00 each morning at the TICA booth in the Huntington Beach Building.

TICA, in conjunction with Dr. Elsey’s Cat Products, will also present the TICA World of Cats Championship and Household Pet Cat Show, which allows owners of all types of cats to showcase their prize-worthy felines for best-in-show categories. TICA is the world’s largest genetic registry of pedigreed and domestic cats and kittens. As the first registry to permit household cats of unknown ancestry to compete for the same awards as pedigreed cats, TICA hosts shows in 104 countries worldwide. The cat show at America’s Family Pet Expo will also include educational presentations, breed booths, and “Learn to Draw” with local celebrity artist Laura Seeley. On Sunday, TICA Allbreed Judge Sharon Kalani will present Cat Care 101, a hands-on program designed to teach kids how to properly feed, handle, and maintain their cats. Participants will receive a Cat Care 101 Certificate of Achievement.
