The Camp Rusk Foundation at America’s Family Pet Expo

Posted On: 04-20-2017

The Camp Rusk Foundation, Inc. will once again be at America’s Family Pet Expo!  Last year over 400 families joined with them as they help horses that help humans. This year horses will be available to touch and take pictures with.

Horses have a unique combination of movements and personalities that over 800 PATH organizations around the USA use in Human Rehabilitation. We humans have a wide range of situations that can be cured or helped by horses. When ridden, a horse’s natural movements can teach a wounded soldier’s  damaged nerves how to help him walk again.  A naturally caring horse can teach an autistic child to speak.  Civilian or military can reduce or eliminate PTSD in association with a horse. The lost of medically beneficial associations between humans and horses is quite long.

For the work of PATH organizations to continue, a decommissioned horse must have a place to live.  This allows another horse to take its place to help both the military and civilians.  Many PATH organizations do not have land available for the horses to retire on after their service.  Along with other activities, The Foundation provides space for these noble horses.

To learn more about the organization and to meet some of the horses, visit the Camp Rusk Foundation booth at America’s Family Pet Expo April 28-30 at the OC Fair & Event Center in Costa Mesa, CA!
